It doesn’t take a genius to look around and see that there are some pretty big changes going on. Our society is moving into what looks like uncharted waters. We have never seen such division before. It looks like an all out attempt to pit one group against another. I marvel that there is no meeting in the middle anymore. You are either for or against something. Even if you don’t pick a side, someone is picking your side for you based on labelling. It amazes me how people are so quick to label you whether you want to or not. The whole world seems bent on drawing a line and daring you to cross it. You simply don’t belong on their side; you are the enemy. If this continues, everyone who is not in the correct group will simply be eliminated. That is their answer to solving the problem, get rid of the opposition, that’s how to achieve unity.
People today, think that we are so smart. They think that because of our scientific achievement, that mankind has come to a place of incredible intelligence. Many tend to look down their noses at ancient people as dumb or stupid because they didn’t have our advanced technology, as if technology is the measure of intelligence. Well, nothing could be further from the truth. With all our intelligence, people tend to think that we are nearing some kind of revolution in human evolution. Well, I am sorry, but that simply is not true. If anything, we are not as smart as we think, especially if we keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Let me tie this all together for you.
While reading in Isaiah the other day, I came across a verse that I had not noticed before. In Isaiah 29:21 I found these words, “Who make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him who reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for nothing”. I think that pretty much sums up what is happening today. Today, people are all but persecuted for not using the right word. (Or pronoun) How people are labeled by words like racist and such, its all about the words. In the labelling, there is the purpose of sighting offenses by the person being labeled. Amazing, and if you take a stand, you fall into their trap and you are further labelled. Those that do these things are all about justice, yet there is nothing just about what they are doing. So my point would be that what’s happening today, happened back in Isaiah’s day as well, and we think we are so smart. It really is true, there is nothing new under the sun. For sure, man is doomed to repeat his failures because he will not learn.
