There is no doubt that we are living in an information age. In fact, we have an information overload. Never in the history of the world has so much information been available from all over the globe. In fact, we are privy to information as it happens from any where at any time. As it turns out, because of all this information, we now have so much more to be concerned about. Our forefathers never suffered from information overload as we do today. In fact, it’s not enough to be worried about what’s happening in our immediate region, we now can worry about international events and catastrophes. As the saying goes, “There is no news like bad news”, as it seems the whole world is full of bad news these days. On top of all this there is the inundation of information from the so called “experts”. I did not know that there were so many experts on any given subject.
It wasn’t too long ago that our news media was a trusted agency. We used to believe that the news would be reported without bias and contain pertinent information germane to the subject. I don’t know about you, but I don’t believe that anymore. Aside from all the political bias found in the news media in the USA over the last 4 plus years, you can also add to it the false reporting concerning the Covid coverage. Now, I don’t dispute the death totals, but I don’t believe for a minute that everyone that fell ill, came down with Covid. If that were true, then the flu disappeared completely for the past 18 months, what a miracle. In short, the media has changed from giving us good info to delivering what amounts to propaganda. Of course, there are many people out there that do believer that the media has presented us with factual and accurate information. They not only trust the news but the believe what they are saying is true as well, and that would also include the experts weighing in on why we should accept the news at face value. Well, anyone who has a good brain, can sift through the news and tell that some things don’t add up at all. In fact, checking information out through alternative news agencies will reveal differing opinions on what’s going on these days. And so, we come to the point that we now see a growing divergence between mainstream media and alternative news.
Which brings us to the conflict. It’s not the conflict of the news, it’s the conflict between people who accept the mainstream narrative and the people that collect broader information from the alternative news sources. There’s nothing wrong with having a differing opinion, it’s when those that accept the mainstream news begin to label the rest of us as conspiracy theorists and whacko’s, which the mainstream media fosters. That would tend to make me believe that there is a tremendous amount of propaganda going on here. In fact, I am finding it more and more difficult to talk to anyone with a differing viewpoint, especially if you start to give facts. I have concluded that anyone that will not talk in facts is the victim of propaganda from the news media, especially those who are controlled by fear generated by the media.
And just what is some of the propaganda? Let me rattle off some of what I believe are the leading propaganda sound bites today. If we all don’t get vaccinated, many people are going to die. Lockdowns will end the spread of the virus. The economy is growing and doing great, just look at the stock market. The government can spend trillions of dollars without damaging the economy. The government knows what is best for everyone. There’s a little inflation, but it will go away. We don’t need the police anymore. Our country would better off if citizens had no guns. Every minority group needs to have control and power over the majority. We need to apologize and pay everyone that was ever wronged in the last 1000 years. If we trust our government and obey, we will enter a new golden social age. And on and on it goes… Don’t tell me there is no propaganda going on these days, just look at how many people are believing some of this stuff. It won’t be long till we are outnumbered, out shouted and pushed aside and ostracized, and I’m afraid there is not going to be much anyone can do about it.
