Ever since I started studying the Bible over 50 years ago, I have been looking forward to the return of Jesus Christ. It would be the topic of conversation in our Bible studies as well as friendly banter among my Christian brothers and sisters. We used to think about what the Bible would say about the end times in light of events that were unfolding in the 70’s and 80’s. Well, I have to tell you, what is happening today seems more like the actual Tribulation in comparison to those bygone years and all the things happening back them. I would have never thought in all my wildest imagination that our government would be doing the things they are doing today. The passing of mandates to control the populace rather than law debated and passed by congress is such an outrageous evil. The corruption rampant in the halls of congress are now blatant and almost in your face. The abandonment of the constitution in favor of massive changes in policy by government for the “good of the people” is abominable. The disrespect for civil authority as well as disrespect for opinions and people in general is breathtaking. The onslaught of the LGBTQ movement and its demands are astounding to see. The overall absence of any common sense and personal integrity is overwhelming. In short, our whole society is about to implode and be replaced by a totalitarian and socialistic agenda of elites ruling over the rest of us. All this is coinciding with the financial disaster that hangs like a sword of Damocles over our heads just waiting to drop. So, it raises the question, just what would the world look like just before the Tribulation?
Part of the common Christian perception is that most of the world would look rather normal right up to the Rapture and then all the things spoken of in Danial and Revelation would unfold in a mere 7 years. All the terrible things along with the rise of a despot, demonical leader who would mesmerize the world would then be manifest. The system by which the Antichrist would take control would then be exposed and come to fruition, all during that short 7-year period. That would be rather miraculous if all that could be done in just 7 years. So, why is it hard to picture the idea that the foundation and framework would not be laid while Christians were still here waiting for Jesus? If the attitudes of people have to slowly change to where they would accept such a leader, why wouldn’t we see this as we witness the changes in the generational attitudes we now understand. (The baby boomers versus the Gen Xer’s versus the Millennials, etc.) Many Christian families have witnessed the jettisoning of the faith by their children, doesn’t it make sense that we might begin to see a generation without Biblical foundations who might embrace an antichrist promising great things? The destruction of our great country is now be hastened by a puppet president and the forces behind him. Who would have ever thought that we would come to this? Is it possible that we will be forced to accept a Fedcoin and give up our dollars in order for the government to gain total control over our freedoms before Jesus comes? Will we see economic chaos fall on us so that our government can implement changes to “save us”?
I think that it is sad to watch all the changes and not be able to get anyone’s attention in government to take a stand against the evil that is rapidly advancing across our land. I think it is sad to see justice derailed and the offenders not taken to task for their evil they have done in the name of good. I think it is sad to look around and realize that we are not going to be able to “back up the bus” and get things turned back around. In short, I tend to find myself morning the death of our great country and find that all I can do is attend the funeral and mourn with others at the wake. Still, I am confident that Jesus will return before the signing of the peace treaty with Israel by the antichrist. This single event marks the beginning of the countdown to Armageddon and touch down of Jesus Christ on the earth at the Mount of Olives to defeat the Antichrist and his armies at Megiddo. I am even more confident that after the Tribulation, Jesus will take control of the earth and set up its rebuilding and go about establishing his kingdom and his reign for the next 1000 years. As I see more and more of the demise of the USA and world in general, I am more and more excited that the kingdom of Jesus Christ is now closer than ever before.
So, while we are waiting and watching, can I suggest that you not despair, but draw closer to Jesus, attend a good Bible teaching church, fellowship with other true believers and watch and wait for the return of Jesus for his bride. Maranatha, even so come quickly Lord Jesus!
