When President Trump took office after being elected, many conservatives breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, there was someone in the Whitehouse who might just be able to bring America back from the brink of it’s decline. Indeed, after taking office, it was not long until he began to make many changes to the government and its past way of doing things. He cut much of the waste out of the financial picture. He backed out of treaties that were not in the best interest of our country. He put into place a number of projects designed in the best interests of America like the wall between our southern states and Mexico. He put conservative people into positions to help run our country on good and healthy guidelines. He fully supported our military. I could go on and on and on, but many of you get the picture. People wanted to preserve the America they grew up in, the America that was built by patriots who sacrificed much to make it great, to preserve the American dream and work ethic that built this great nation. Is it any wonder that the last 20 months have brought about the greatest changes to the American landscape that anyone has ever seen?

We have been told all our lives that we can vote to bring about changes. We have been told that the political system can be accessed to make the necessary changes. We have been told that we can contact our congressmen and make our voices heard. We have been told that we can make a difference. It now breaks my heart to realize that that is no longer true today. I could just cry when I think about those who are in power who have turned a deaf ear to the voice of the American people. I am more than horrified to realize that there are people in power who no intend of doing the right thing but have made it abundantly clear that they are intent on doing what they think is best for America, regardless of what the American people want. It is with fear and dread that I watch as our financial system erodes away with the endless “printing” of money without fiscal responsibility. I am almost to the point of hopelessness as I sit helplessly by and watch our government take more and more control over every aspect of our lives by endless mandates and laws to corral people like sheep into blind allegiance to a totalitarian, communistic social agenda that will enslave the masses to do the will of the elite. But I am at the same time filled with excitement about what all this means in light of the Scriptures.

Those who hold the Bible in high esteem, know that there has been prophesied a coming king who will claim the earth as his kingdom and rule it for one thousand years. As long as I have been a Christian (51 years) I have been expecting the return of Jesus. Today, as I watch the decline of my country and yes, even the whole world, I now see the footprints of prophecy taking shape. The reality of the coming Tribulation is now patterned before our very eyes. All you have to do is look a mere 7+ years into the future to know that everything that is taking place today, will be gone and the kingdom of Jesus Christ will have arrived, and all this chaos will be gone, forever. Today, we see the reality of events lining up to usher in a world leader who will control everything. Today we see the efforts to push everyone into a single controlled environment run by world leaders. The speed of these changes brings a deep sadness that there is nothing I can do to stop what is now taking place. Yet, I am excited because I know that all this is just a blip on the screen and all this evil will be flushed away and destroyed by a mighty stone and that stone is Jesus, the destroyer of false kings and false kingdoms. Add to all this, the fact that you and I will be able to enter that kingdom as glorified believers and live out those thousand years and see the end of evil and a total rule and reign of a righteous and good king over all the earth. Just think, you and I will be part of the government of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. You and I will have the chance to do things right under the leadership of our Savior, Jesus. Everything you see today, will be replaced by a new government and you and I will be part of that world where the right thing is always done by a right king and benevolent leader who loves us. So, I am sad to see the end of this life that I have known and this country that I have loved, but I am excited to see that coming kingdom and be a part of that rather than trying fix up this broken-down world I find myself in today. As much as I would like things to go back to the way they were, I see that what is about to come to pass is so much better. I am sad, but at the same time, I am excited to look just a little ways down the rode of time and see the coming of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ….
